Requiem Of Horrors

Lux Raw and terrifying, this is music for aficionados of the macabre. The effective use of keys and atmospheric production elevate each song into a gothic horror delight. Also, the gnarliest harsh vocals I've heard since Obed Marsh. I adore some good, gurgly vox. Highly recommended. Favorite track: ...till the birds are eating our eyes.
Sleeping Villager
Sleeping Villager thumbnail
Sleeping Villager Raw, spooky, and endlessly engaging Gothic and dramatic, yet harshly lo-fi. Karstein consistently manages to marry seemingly disparate sonic extremes.

This EP, notably, features the gurgliest vocals ever recorded. This is a fact. Favorite track: The Sorrow of the Creature.
Antifascist Black Metal Network
Antifascist Black Metal Network thumbnail
Antifascist Black Metal Network Karnstein openly profess their love of gothic horror and literature, and they express it with raw, keyboard-laden, lo-fi black/doom metal sprinkled with some fitting dissonance, that may sound sloppy to the precision minded fans of polished dissoblack but fits right in with the more organic sound of vampyric afficionados and Devi Doll appreciators. Oh, hear the choir In the top of the cathedral ward Lies our darkest secret A daughter of the cosmos Ebrietas, a great one In our search, through nightmares, we found The great ones, elder gods, and so We realized, that we are, thinking On the basest of plains, what we Need granted, are more eyes, inside Our own minds, only then, could we Make contact, beyond our realm, grant us Eyes like you did, for the spider We must Transcend We must Become We are, the great, choir We pursue the eldritch truth We are, the great, choir Drink the blood of the left behind We must Transcend We must Become We are, the great, choir The hamlet held the truth We are, the great, choir The corpse of Kosm A call beyond Our secret rite This phantasm Reaches new planes Outer reaches Of the cosmos Ebrietas Guide our way

The good and evil in every man’s soul... In the shadow of the moon Things go blood red I no longer see this room Or hear what was said I don’t know what happened next Was it the thrashing of limbs? Am I the victim of unholy hex? Violence became my whim I wake naked and bloody My comrades seem to be gone My surroundings I now study Is this where I belong? The curse of the... Of the Werewolf In the nighttime Things are different I become beastly I become not me The curse of the... Of the Werewolf Loved ones no longer Here with me Intoxicated I am not man

A sense of mortal agony, crept over my frame All the misery of reflection, is what I became All men hate the wretched, how then must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things My soul glowed with love and humanity, but am I not alone Where they ought to see a feeling and kind friend, they behold only a detestable monster I only tried To be like them To learn from them And yet People of this world Took one look At my countenance And screamed They pushed me away And drove me down Into total Darkness My all encompassing Endless sorrow Is all because of Your fear I am alone x2 If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear! You refuse to Even allow me life To be with my Own Kind If this is All you’ll allow Then this violence is Your fault So much does suffering blunt even the coarsest sensations of men How strange is that clinging love we have of life even in the excess of misery Even that enemy of god and man had friends and associates in his desolation, I am alone If you won’t accept me then my sorrow, will wreak havoc across the land

To be burned This is our fate Lies are spread So is their hate Always questioned Not listened too Now we are Not given due Burning Drowning Tortured Can’t be What we Are now Reduced Down to What they say we are we cannot be Traitorous We are scapegoated for existing Persecution They round us up with total glee Puritania Yet cut us we all bleed the same Futile, feeble is our bleak lifespan Traitorous There is no escaping these trials Persecution Was this all part of their dreadful plan Puritania To them we are all accursed Our craft is in nature itself Traitorous Our deaths are their entertainment Persecution Crushing us to expand their wealth Puritania And yet never will this end This isn’t over till we’re dead Traitorous And the birds are eating our eyes Persecution Will you make the streets run red? Puritania You can choose who bears the scars When, Salem Is, on our Own, doorstep Lives, will end These, witch trials Can’t, sustain We, will rise And, come back When, Salem Is, on our Own, doorstep Lives, will end These, witch trials Can’t, sustain We, will rise And, come back
